The Twin Ports Rotaract Club is off to a successful start! This year we have changed from the University of Minnesota Duluth Rotaract Club to the Twin Ports Rotaract Club, to allow students across the Twin Ports to be a part of one club. Since September, the Twins Ports Rotaract Club has completed 9 service projects; for 3 of these projects we teamed up with local Rotary clubs. Serving with the local Rotary clubs, helps us form relationships with Rotarians and expand our impact in the community. The Twin Ports Rotaract was recently given the opportunity to attend the One Rotary Summit in Duluth! We had an exciting turnout of 6 Rotaractors. Alyssa Sorenson, a Twin Ports Rotaract Co-President and member who attended said, “I learned the importance of creating awareness of our club and Rotary. I thought the discussion was very valuable because we realized that we all have the same goal. Rotary and Rotaract both want to increase membership, foster community, and do good.” Delaney Urban, the other Co-President of Rotaract also said, “The biggest thing I took away from the Rotary Summit were service project ideas to take back and implement in Rotaract, as well as how important it is to maintain a relationship with Rotary. They want to see your club succeed and grow. The Rotary Summit inspired me to implement steps to build the Twin Ports Rotaract membership, grow our public image, and philanthropic work around the community.” We all left the leadership conference with renewed energy and great ideas to bring back to our club. After the Rotary Summit it was apparent that there is a significant value in being a part of a Rotaract Club. It allows young leaders to see the value of Rotary; the importance of creating connections, coming together for a common goal and sharing ideas.  Rotaract opens the door for these people to become future Rotarians. Your Rotary club can be a part of educating these young leaders and showing them what it is to be a Rotarian.
