Each club and RYLA chairperson has their own methods for recruiting students to apply for RYLA. For some an engaged school counselor is a direct connection to students. For others maybe past RYLA students are the ones recommending others apply. Here are some tips for finding the students to send.

First, make sure your website and social media accounts are up to date with how to apply and where they should be submitting applications too. When students have questions on these topics they will quickly search online for the answers so make sure they are there for them.

Second, engage with last year's students to see if they have suggestions. They often can think of other students who would benefit and are able to give a first hand experience summary to potential students.

Third, connect with coaches, music directors, speech and debate coaches, student counsel advisers, youth group leaders, etc. The individuals have connections and trust with their students they are recommending.

Additonally, students are much more likely to respond to a text message over a call, so when reaching out to students keep that in mind.

Student applications are due to the district by April 28, so start looking for students now.
