VOCATIONAL TRAINING TEAMS

A Vocational Training Team (VTT) is a group of professionals who travel to another country, either to learn more about their profession or to teach local professionals about a particular field.  Vocational Training Teams may or may not be reciprocated by partner districts.  VTT is an educational program of The Rotary Foundation.

Requirements:  Global grant VTTs must align with one or more of The Rotary Foundation's 6 Areas of Focus, build the capacity of either the team members or the benefiting community, and have a sustainable and measurable impact.  The VTT must be sponsored by Rotary clubs or districts from two countries.  The grant may support the travel of more than one team.  The 6 Area s of Focus are:
Peace and conflict prevention / resolution
Disease prevention and treatment
Water and sanitation
Maternal and child health
Basic education and literacy
Economic and community development

Global grant VTT's concentrate on one or more Areas of Focus.  A VTT may be a stand-alone Global Grant or a component of a Global Grant that includes a humanitarian project.

Team Composition:  Teams must consist of at least two members (either Rotarians or non-Rotarians) with at least two years of professional experience in the designated areas of focus, and a Rotarian leader who has the expertise in the Area of Focus, international experience, and general Rotary knowledge.  In certain cases, the Foundation may grant permission to designate a non-Rotarian as Team Leader.  There are no restrictions on the age of participants.

Length of the Visit:  This is determined by the sponsors (club or district).

Budget:  At least US$30,000 for the total project cost, including the expenses for the VTT, as well as any other grant activities such as humanitarian projects, scholarships or additional teams.

Note:  This is a new program and subject to changes as the program grows and VTTs are implemented around the globe.
