The annual District 5580 4-Way Test Essay Contest is now underway. The contest is open to students who are in their final 2 years of high school. Its purpose is to help your club educate youth concerning the Rotary 4-Way Test and how they can apply it to their lives.
The District winner of the contest will receive a cash award of $1,250 (includes $150 as Regional Winner). The District will also provide cash awards of $150 to each of the winners in the 6 regions of the District. May I also suggest that your club offer a prize to your local winner in an amount that your club determines. A Club may submit only one (1) essay to the District. It will be up to your club to judge your local entries before submitting your winner to the District. We would suggest that you set a deadline of December 4, 2019, to receive your local entries so that you have time to judge them and submit your winning entry to the District Chair.
Entries must be electronically submitted to the District Chair on or before December 31, 2019. You can download all of the following materials from the District Website, www.rotary5580.org. Simply click on the 4- WAY ESSAY SITE PAGE located under the YOUTH tab, on the right side of the HOME Page. Materials for download include:

Please make sure your 4-Way Essay Chairperson delivers the Student Guidelines, Student Entry Form, Poster and a copy of last year’s winning essay to your local high school(s) soon. He/She should read and be familiar with both the Student Guidelines and Club Guidelines in case there are questions from schools, students or club members. PLEASE EMAIL THE STUDENT ENTRY FORM, CLUB CONTACT INFORMATION AND STUDENT ESSAY TO ME NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 31 2019. ONLY DIGITAL COPIES OF ESSAYS WILL BE ACCEPTED – NO PAPER COPIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
