Rotarians Sakib Mahmud and Geoff Bell of the Duluth-Superior EcoRotary club have developed a survey that explores your experiences of and interactions with our natural environment. This is part of a larger academic study examining whether / how attitudes and behaviors toward the natural environment vary based on locale. While just one somewhat similar survey has been conducted in Europe, nothing like this has been done in North America. You can be part of their groundbreaking research!
Geoff and Sakib need a sample of people who vary on many dimensions yet are similar on important ones. Because Rotarians come from a variety of backgrounds and occupations but pursue a common interest in service to their communities, surveying Rotarians “controls” for many sources of variety while ensuring similarity along an important dimension: service!
You can access the survey here. It should take about 15 minutes to complete. Please do so by January 31, 2026. If you want, they’ll send you a summary of the results once they’ve compiled them. Thank you for helping to ensure a robust sample size while enabling us to better understand our perceptions of the natural world.
