Happy Spring District 5580 Rotarians!
I hope that spring has reached all of you.....finally! The sun is shining, the temps are going up and you can just feel a new energy. The snow has almost melted for most of us, soon the grass will turn green and flowers will bloom.
It's also the time we start transitioning towards a new Rotary year. " The Magic of Rotary" is still among us and we still have goals to reach. It's the time to review the goals you set for your clubs, celebrate the goals that you achieved and work to realize those that you still have time to accomplish. The President Elect training was held in Minneapolis and NCPETS Virtual is coming up for those Presidents that were unable to attend in person. Even if your President has been a Club President before I highly encourage them to attend the virtual NCPETS. Rotary is always evolving and adapting.
I would like to encourage you to work with the students in your communities to attend RYLA. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards is a week long program that builds leadership skills for high school students. I have seen the transformation of students from the first day of RYLA to their last day. They may be your communities future leaders.
Are you looking to a new adventure this summer? Join 38 District 5580 Rotarians as we travel to the Rotary International Convention in Calgary, Canada. This is the opportunity to experience an International Convention closer to home, make new friends and or course have lots of fun!
As we look to the new Rotary year I would like to highly encourage each club to have one of your members participate on a District committee. We have many committees that need you! If you've never served on a committee, it's not hard! Whether you've been a month long or years long member we need your ideas!
Thank you for being a Rotarian!
