We have to become “People of Action” when it comes to membership if we are to survive the future. Involvement of our District membership committee, all the Assistant Governors, Club Presidents, Club Membership Chairpersons and the 2,892 Rotarians in District 5580 need to become “active” in recruiting new members for our clubs.
District 5580 is Rebranding itself and these initiatives will be successful only when the District and its leaders demonstrate that we are “People of Action” who prioritize, recognize and celebrate the results of our actions to solidify membership in our clubs. Considering recent happening in the decline in Membership in District 5580 and in our clubs over the past two years we must recognize that we have to become more proactive in attracting, engaging, and retaining members.
Member Decline: (2015-16 -Minus 41 net ) ( 2016-17-Minus 145 net ) ( 2017-18- Plus 9 net as of January 16)
We must recognize improvements in membership recruitment and development and must be organized and moved forward as the most important accomplishment of the Clubs and our District. For if we don’t have members, we don’t have a need for Public Relations, a Rotary foundation, club projects, Rotary friendships, club and district projects.
Together, new Rotary members help make our District and clubs stronger than ever. They strengthen our
connections in our clubs and communities, while help making life-changing programs and projects, locally and globally. This is why we, as Rotarians, must seize this opportunity and become “People of Action” to “Ask” someone, who would be a great candidate, to join Rotary. To engage and involve them in one of the “Greatest” organizations in the World! We have a +9-net growth so far this year and would like to have 3,025 members by the end of this Rotary year. We can do it if All District 5580 Rotarians become active in increasing membership in our clubs. Thanks Rotarians and let’s get ACTIVE.
