After the Duluth Rotary One Summit, I was enthused about the great ideas that were presented and bubbled up as a result of the discussions!  Of course, I couldn’t wait to apply as many as possible then this shiny red car went by, it sounded great, looked fast and wow, I could see…

Time passed and we were embarking on our annual coffee sale, talking logos, packaging, price point, ground or bean, how soon do we want to get started all the usual stuff needed to get it rolling.  The product was ordered with the label just so and it hit me (hand slapping forehead-ensuing stars!) What opportunity has just been missed here?  We are soon going to be placing about a thousand bags of delicious Rotary coffee and not a peep about Rotary was going to sully those re-sealable poly bags. However-it was not too late!  We came up with this simple plea to be on a sticker, lovingly affixed to each bag of coffee by a dedicated Rotarian and it reads; If YOU are a person of action, with a heart for service, YOU should be a Rotarian! Find a club at rotary.org Or talk to the Rotarian who sold you this coffee!

Will it result in a swelling of our ranks?  Will that be the buzz all around Duluth for weeks to come? I have no idea but, the odds are much better than they would have been and who knows, one sleepy morning, waiting for the coffee to brew, someone might just read the sticker and think “I am a person of action with a heart for service and doggone it, I should be a Rotarian!”

Think of all you do and sell and promote and see if there might just be an opportunity to let all the people you touch know that you’d like them to join you in this exciting and gratifying adventure we know as Rotary!
