Volunteers needed to help at this year’s REHT Festival July 28-29!

Dear Rotarians of District 5580,
My name is Dan Brown, and I am a member of the Nipigon Rotary Club #28265, and I currently serve as Assistant Governor for Area 16.
I am writing to ask your help with the REHT (Rotary Ends Human Trafficking) Music and Camping Festival being put on by the Brainerd Noon Rotary, Brainerd Sunrise Rotary and Central Lakes Rotary on July 28 and 29. I am wanting to invite you to be part of this great endeavor to help people in Central Minnesota and communities all around learn about the reality of human trafficking in our area and help them learn tools to be safer and help prevent human trafficking.
The event features great Country Music bands and educational opportunities for participants to have a great time while learning more about human trafficking. Professional speakers including Stacy Schaeffer, our District End Human Trafficking Chair, will present workshops and give resources to help families be safer.
The REHT Festival has applied for a $22,000 grant from District 5580. As you know, $11,000 will come from D5580 but this amount must be matched with another $11,000 by the sponsoring clubs. I am hoping you will help this endeavor by contributing $200 toward the Clubs’ District Grant matching funds requirement of $11,000 to cover the cost of educational, promotion and advertising expenses. If each of our 58 U.S. clubs donated just $200 to the matching grant amount, it would total the $11,000 needed for the match and free up REHT’s funds to cover other aspects of this large event.
I am asking your club to consider donating $200 and send it to Central Lakes Rotary Foundation, P.O. Box 587, Pequot Lakes, MN 56472. Your help will enable this district awareness campaign on Human Trafficking to take place. Together, we can all make a difference in spreading the word that human traffickers are not safe in our District!
