Keith Brokke asked the local 5-clubs to do a joint project related to the environment. After some planning we decided to partner with River Keepers in Fargo/Moorhead to pick up trash along the river near where our new Natural Playground will be constructed.
Due to the flood water this spring the date was pushed back a couple times, but we finally were able to get out on June 21st. There was still river silt along the path in a few parts of the trail, but we were able to work around it. We had roughly 15 volunteers for the project picking up all kinds of trash from along the trail and near the river. We cleaned from about 3:00 to 5:30 or so. Although the project was mostly Rotarians, Heather Ranck brought 4 guests including her 2 children and a guest from Brazil to help out.
