Twin Ports Rotaract Club:
The Twin Ports Rotaract Club wrapped up a busy semester last December with their annual Adopt a Family project. The club adopted a family 7 and provided presents for the parents and all of the children, in addition to a gift card to purchase a Christmas dinner.
“The experience of adopting a family was so heartwarming and gratifying,” says Co-President Ashley Neitzel. “As a kid, opening up your presents on Christmas is one of the greatest feelings in the world and a memory you hold dear to your heart. Having the opportunity to help give that joy and see that happiness on our sponsored family’s faces, gave us just as much joy as a kid on Christmas.”
Thunder Bay Rotaract:
Thunder Bay Rotaract has been busy with many projects including preparing meals at Root to Harvest, assisting at the 28th Annual Rotary Santa Claus Parade, volunteering at St. James School, fellowship events, and fundraising activities.
This December the club organized a new project, “Santa’s Lil’ Helper.” They were able to provide presents for 50 kids from Our Kids Count. A Christmas tree was set up at Lakehead college where students could grab an ornament with an age of a child and what they wanted for Christmas. Both club members and nonmembers contributed to this project and the Rotaractors look forward to continuing this project next year, and support even more kids.
