Rotary is made up of Rotary Clubs, Rotary International, and The Rotary Foundation (commonly referred to as TRF).
- We all know about Rotary Clubs, each of us is a member of one.
- Rotary International is the global service organization under which our clubs are chartered.
- In addition to Rotary International, we have our charitable arm, called The Rotary Foundation (commonly referred to as TRF), which is run by the Trustees, who are all Rotary members.
Rotary District 5580 is an International District consisting of Northwestern Ontario between longitudes 85o and 90o (3 Thunder Bay clubs and 1 Nipigon club); the northwestern tip of Wisconsin (2 Superior clubs and 1 Ashland club); the northern half of Minnesota and all of North Dakota.

This vast area that encompasses 240,000 square miles (614,400 square kilometers) in three time zones (Eastern, Central and Mountain) is home to more than 2,400 Rotarians in 62 clubs plus a number of Interact and Rotaract clubs.
Being an International District makes District 5580 unique, as this affords clubs an opportunity to share information and fellowship between two (2) countries, the United States and Canada
