Rotary has the power to make waves — literally. On Earth Day, April 22, 2026, Rotary Clubs across five states in 5 Districts will announce uniting for a powerful, multi-district clean water initiative. Together, we’ll show the world the impact Rotary makes when we take action on one of our most critical causes — clean water and sanitation.
Clean water is more than a basic need — it’s a foundation for health, dignity, and opportunity.
Around the world, families walk miles for water that isn’t even safe to drink. In our own communities, the health of local watersheds is often threatened by nearby development and invasive plants. Rotary clubs are uniquely positioned to change that story.
Now is the moment for your club to step forward.
Whether it’s installing a well, supporting water filtration systems, restoring a watershed, or partnering with a community on sustainable sanitation solutions, your club can create a project that could transform lives for generations.
🌍 Why Now
- Water projects create immediate, measurable impact
- They align directly with Rotary’s Areas of Focus
- They attract partners, grants, and new members
- They unite clubs around meaningful, hands‑on service
🚀 Take the First Step
As President or President-Elect of your Club, we are asking you to gather your members and choose a project — all you need is the will to begin.
Our district, 5580, is one of five districts covering four states, parts of Canada and Wisconsin. We are banding together to showcase the impact Rotary has in our region. All clubs in Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, northern Iowa, Thunder Bay Canada area, and parts of Wisconsin have the opportunity to join this historic partnership. That means you can be a part of 250 clubs with 7,500 Rotarians banded together to make a major impact.
Click Here the information on the district website. You can find project ideas for projects large or small. Submit your project before the end of June so we can let the world know how we’re all working toward our mission. Any project initiated or completed in Rotary year 2025-26 can be submitted. The project submission form is on the website at the link provided above. Some examples of projects already underway in our district include: Save a Drain, Litter Free Lakes, and Seeds for Conservation, all recently featured in our district newsletter.
