You’ve just completed your first Paul Harris Fellow now what?  First understand how the Foundation works.  The money is invested for three years and the earnings pay for the administration, then money is available for projects.  Half of the money raised comes back to the districts the other half is available thru the World fund for major projects, but you’ve heard all of that.  What next?

Well the money has now been spent and we will now need to recharge our account.  Many Rotarians give annually but could do more.  The Paul Harris Society is a vehicle to do more.  The Society is a pledge to donate US $1000 per year, many are already doing that so why not be recognized?  Upon pledging you receive a set of “wings” to be worn with your Rotary pin, some don’t like to show off so wearing is not necessary.  Along  the way you will become a major donor by continuing.  This can be accomplished monthly, quarterly or a one time annual gift.  Why even think of this?  As stated earlier, after three years the money is spent doing good in the world.  Our legacy as Rotarians will be determined by what we have done, doing “Good in the World”.  There are lots of Paul Harris members out there whose money has long ago been spent, what have you done lately??
