Dr. Moriarty, CEO, of the International Water & Sanitation Centre (IRC) will be a keynote speaker at the World Water Summit 11, being held in Hamburg on May 31, 2019.
 
Dr. Moriarty has spent his career bringing sustainable water and sanitation solutions to people around the world. In this short video from the IRC, Dr. Moriarty reveals a far different world water crisis than the one we generally think about.

WHAT DO WE MEAN BY VOCATION, ANYWAY?

The question we face almost from the time we are old enough to talk is 'What do you want to be when you grow up?" 

It's a question most often put to us by our parents, teachers, and friends. When we are young, we are content to keep our answers pretty vague or even whimsical. When I was 10, I wanted to be a Cowboy Astronaut Zookeeper!! Sometimes I wish I was one, if only to see the look on the face of Rotarians who ask me what my vocation is.

PARTNERING OPPORTUNITIES FOR INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

Is your club looking for a partnering opportunity to participate in an international project?  Our District website www.rotary5580.org now features projects that our D5580 clubs are  proposing to do, but lack funding.  Certain Projects may also offer opportunities for Rotarians to travel to and work on the project.

UNDERSTANDING FOUNDATION RECOGNITION POINTS
What are Foundation recognition points and how can I accumulate them?
 
Foundation recognition points are awarded to donors who contribute to The Rotary Foundation through the Annual Fund or PolioPlus  or who contribute to sponsorship of a Foundation grant. Donors receive one recognition point for every U.S. dollar contributed to these funds. Contributions to the Endowment Fund are not eligible.

CENTRAL  LAKES ROTARIANS RECEIVE PAUL HARRIS AWARDS
“I’ll make you an offer you can’t refuse!” Central Lakes (Pequot Lakes) Rotary Club Foundation Chair, Diane Collins, challenged club members to contribute $100 or more in the month of December to The Rotary Foundation, and the club would give a 3 to 1 match with Recognition Points.  From that challenge, 6 Rotarians in Central Lakes Rotary Club received their next Paul Harris recognition.

FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN EVENT
The Fargo Moorhead Clubs would like help on January 31 beginning at 7 pm and concluding at 9 pm to fill bags of food for the organization known as Feed my Starving Children?  The event will be held at the Scheel’s Arena west of 45th St. S. on 32nd Avenue.
