PRESIDENTIAL MESSAGE
Shekhar Mehta

R. Gordon R. McInally

President 2023-24

(Presidential message retrieved from: https://my.rotary.org/en/news-media/office-president/presidential-message)

August 2023

At the 2023 Rotary International Convention in Melbourne, I asked all Rotary members to become champions in our effort to illuminate mental health needs near and far. This includes helping one another feel more supported, advocating for mental health services, and building bridges with experts in the field to expand access to treatment.

It’s an important task and a big ask. But it’s also something that should feel familiar to every Rotary member — because everything we do is in the spirit of caring, giving, friendship, and compassion, and has been from the beginning of our organization.

Submitted by: Tim Clair, District 5580 Foundation Chair 2023-2025

Foundation wrap up - 2022-2023 fiscal year
The fiscal year 2022-23 came to a close on June 30, 2023.  As I mentioned in previous articles, our Annual Fund giving goal is $100 per capita ($100 average per Rotarian in our district).  While we did not achieve our annual fund goal, we had a very successful year closing out the year at approximately $92.42 per capita.  That is the 2nd highest per capita contribution in the past 5 years!  Considering we were sitting at $67 per capita in May 2023, the Foundation Committee extends a huge THANK YOU to the Rotarians that responded and impacted our Annual Fund giving!
