  • The Camper fee is $600 due April 30. (This should be the last increase needed for a few years as prices are now stabilizing).

5 steps as a Rotary Club to participate:

  1. Confirm the number of students your club has agreed to sponsor.
  2. Promote RYLA and recruit students.
  3. Select student(s) based on your clubs own process and communicate with district leadership.
  4. Plan transportation arrangements with the student(s).
  5. Coordinate with the student(s) to speak at your club after attendance.

There are additional details and tips on the website for each step.

Fees must be sent for campers and selected campers sent into the district. 

 

Payments

Please send ALL CHECKS to our District Treasurer: Elaine Hansen, Treasurer District 5580 Rotary, 133 Summit St, Apt. 401, Duluth, MN 55803. Indicate in the memo this is for RYLA. We are limited to 134 spots on a first-come-first-serve basis. No refunds are available after April 30.  

 

Selected Campers Submitted

 

Campers can apply online at http://district5580ryla.org starting February 1, 2024. 

  1. Direct students to http://district5580ryla.org to fill out the application in the potential campers section. 
  2. Students receive an email with a copy of their completed application, which parents/guardians can then sign, and turn in to your club representative.
  3. The club representative must submit their selected campers via this form to the district: https://form.jotform.com/240145135184045
  4. Only online submissions (Campers & Rotary Clubs) will be accepted. Any paper forms used are outdated and not approved by the district. 

 

You will not be collecting medical and liability forms. Once students are selected the RYLA team will reach out to the students for completion of these forms. 

 

RECRUITMENT IDEAS:

  • We’ll be sending out messages to last year’s campers to help with recruitment - they are often the best source!
  • Connect with school counselors, coaches, music directors, and youth group leaders. Encourage them to nominate students who are ready to enhance their leadership capabilities. 
  • There’s a promotional video you can use at your club during Student of the Month or through your clubs social media pages: http://district5580ryla.org/campers/
  • Like and share the RYLA Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter account updates.
  • Post on your social media sites
