The Twin Ports Rotaract club started off with big changes when they converted from the University of Minnesota Duluth Rotaract Club to the Twin Ports Rotaract Club. This has been great because it allows students from the twin ports area to join our club, where as in the past only UMD students could join. The Thunder Bay Rotaract Club became active again this year! They completed wonderful projects, a highlight being Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child is an initiative organized through Samaritan's Purse in which people fill shoeboxes and these boxes are sent to children in need. They made 50 shoeboxes! The Twin Port’s Rotaract highlight this year was the Polar Plunge in which they jumped in Lake Superior in February and raised $1,500 for Special Olympics! Rotaract also celebrated their 50th Anniversary on March 13th. Today there are over 10,000 Rotaract Clubs and 250,000 Rotaractors worldwide!

service project trip to Guatemala. They traveled to 3 different schools to deliver school supplies and assisted with construction by mixing a lot of concrete. Seeing the difference our district makes in Guatemala was remarkable. Witnessing the children’s smiles after delivering school supplies and teaching them how to play “Duck, Duck, Grey Duck” was a highlight. We connected with a lot of Rotaract Clubs in Guatemala and will be doing a friendship exchange with the Rotaract Oeste. Two Rotaractors will be coming to Minnesota at the end of June and will be hosted by the Twin Ports Rotaract Club. Looking ahead to next year, I am excited to announce there will be the first ever District 5580 Rotaract Conference! All 3 Rotaract clubs will be participating and we are super excited for this opportunity!
