AREZZO ACCEPTS ROTARY INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENTIAL NOMINATION
Announcement from President Stephanie A. Urchick

Dear Family of Rotary,

In moments of change the strength and resilience of our Rotary family shine brightest. Following the unexpected resignation of Mário César Martins de Camargo, the Rotary International Board moved swiftly and thoughtfully, in accordance with our bylaws, to ensure continuity in our mission and leadership.

I am proud to share that Francesco Arezzo of the Rotary Club of Ragusa, Italy has accepted the nomination to serve as Rotary International President for 2025–26.

Francesco Arezzo has been a member of Rotary for more than 30 years and is a Benefactor of The Rotary Foundation.

His dedication to Rotary values and vision for a better world make him a remarkable choice to lead us forward.

This transition reminds us that Rotary is more than any one individual—it is a global movement, deeply rooted in fellowship and service, capable of adapting and thriving no matter the challenge.

Now is the time to Unite for Good under Francesco’s leadership, and together we will propel Rotary into a future defined by hope, action, and community.

Warmest regards,
Stephanie A. Urchick
President, Rotary International, 2024–25

DISTRICT GOVERNOR MESSAGE
District Governor:
Kay Parries (bio) pictured with her husband Dan Parries

District Rotary Members and Friends,

As I near the end of my journey as your District Governor, I am filled with deep gratitude. Serving as your Governor has been one of the greatest honors. I will always cherish the kindness, support, and inspiration you gave me!

Thank you to all the clubs, every Club President, and each member for welcoming Dan and me to your club and your communities. You were so proud to show us your towns. Each of your clubs had a story to tell and projects to share. Each of you makes your city a better place to live. Indeed, you truly embody the principle of “Service Above Self”!

To the District Team: DGE Elaine and DGN Peter, you dedicated your time to weekly Friday morning meetings, numerous emails, and engaging discussions. Thank You!

To the AGs. Assistant Governors, in our large and expansive District, where would we be without you? You visit the clubs and keep the DG team and clubs informed. Thank you!

To our Committee Chairs, who hold it all together. Numerous details flow, and ideas are suggested. From your commitment, things get done. Thank you!

I’d be remiss if I did not mention our Past District Governors. Otherwise known as PDGs! Gary, Keith, Bob, Deb, Dave, and Kay have been a valuable resource to me. Thank you for your knowledge, advice, and friendship!

A special thank you to my family: my husband, Dan; daughter, Emily; son-in-law, Tyler; and, of course, our grandsons, Tate and Hayden. Thank you for your support over the past year! Dan was the best listener and a great navigator; we only got lost a couple of times!

As we look ahead, there are challenges. We need to commit to making membership our #1 goal. It means exploring creative ways to attract new members to Rotary. Don’t be afraid to challenge what we are doing and how we do things. Does this work, or should we be trying something different? We need to continue to bring Women to Rotary.

We need more members involved in our clubs and the District. Committees should be strong and have a diverse membership throughout the District. I encourage each of you to participate in the decision-making process by joining a committee. We need your ideas!

Thank you for this amazing year! Let’s continue forward together. Let’s go out and Do Good Works!

IMAGINE THE IMPACT INITIATIVE

Submitted by Linda Marrin

Leaders from 4 districts gathered in St. Cloud on Saturday, May 10th to collaborate on an initiative we could focus on together, with every club able to participate.  Imagine the impact: every club in Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota participating in an effort on the same day!  Our goal was to identify such an initiative and generate regional media attention on Rotary and its impact in our states, region, country, and around the world.
