The Rotary Wheel and The Rotary Club of Duluth The earliest Symbol of Rotary International was a simple wagon wheel. It was designed in 1905 by Harry Ruggles, often called the fifth Rotarian after the four founding members of Club No 1 in Chicago. Chicago Rotarian Montague Bear improved the design in the same year by adding “clouds” supporting the wheel, and for the first 17 years of Rotary some form of wagon wheel.The “clouds”, described as “dust” Bear was an engraver, and the wheel that he designed is pictured below. |
